MEET THE COACHES

COACH BRANDON HILL is a native of Louisville, KY.  From 2012-2016, Hill worked as an assistant coach on the staff at Louisville Central High School.  While on staff, Coach Hill assisted in all areas of Central’s program: from stats, scouting opponents, coordinating trips for the team, off-season conditioning, and more.  He was the Head Junior Varsity boys coach in  2012-13, where he led his team to a 17-3 record.  Hill was very instrumental in building the program’s success, and this was evident by the varsity team being consistently in the Top 15 in the state of Kentucky 3 out of his 4 seasons coaching there.  It was during his time at Central that he noticed that the real value added to his players’ lives went outside of basketball.  “We had to be more than basketball coaches at Central,” said Hill.  “It was here that I learned that coaching youth was about way more than Xs and Os on the court.  We had to be big brother, uncle, and father figures to these young men.  I learned that I was a bigger influence than I thought I would be to not only the players, but the parents.  Most of our kids’ parents either didn’t go to college, or play any sport in college.  I would have to help them with the process, and even help out on a personal level with the kids when needed.”

Hill said his biggest accomplishment was seeing 6 out of the 10 seniors he coached in his last two seasons go on to join teams in college or prep school for basketball: one in football, and the other three all went on to college.  “I felt like we did our job as a program. It was a very happy and emotional the day when they graduated with set plans to move on to higher education.
Before coaching at Central, Hill played on the NAIA and NCAA D2 levels in Men’s basketball.  He started out as a student athlete at Kentucky State University, and then transferred and finished up his eligibility at Indiana University Northwest.  Hill served as a student assistant coach with the Men’s team in the 2011-12 season. Hill graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University in 2011.
Prior to college, Hill served 4 years in the United States Air Force.  There he worked as Network Systems Administrator, and also did a stint on the Robins AFB Honor Guard. During his time in the military, Hill garnered many awards and won championships for basketball on the base and Air Force Levels.

COACH ISAIAH BRITT is a native of Louisville, Kentucky and serves as BTAG's Program Director in addition to being a coach and mentor. During the Peace League tournament, Britt wears many hats: commissioner, managing the staff and budget, as well as coordinating marketing programs and campaigns to promote the league. Because of Britt's passion for using sports to help Louisville youth, he worked to obtain a partnership with Louisville Metro Parks and Recreation Programs and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kentuckiana to make sure BTAG programs would be accessible to underprivileged youth. When he's not working with BTAG, Britt works with the Rajon Rondo Assisting Youth Foundation where he is a liaison between the organization and the community in which it serves. Coach Britt is a 2011 graduate of Kentucky State University.  Before he became a Thorobred, Britt attended Seneca High School where he was a four-year starter in basketball ( all- Region) and all-state football. At Kentucky State, he coached the women’s basketball team during the 2011-2012 season,  and Central High School boys basketball from 2012-2014. While there, Britt helped Central implement new conditioning methods. It was then that his passion for sports and mentoring the younger generations  was born. Britt learned that sports should be used as a catalyst to open doors and create opportunities.  "The lessons that sports teaches us serve us long after we stop playing. This is why sports is Bigger than A Game.”
