BTAG IN THE COMMUNITY

BTAG believes that giving back to our community is the best way to uplift and set an example for our youth. We're not just a sports mentoring program, we also raise funds for college scholarships.

btag HONORED WITH COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD

No More Red Dots, an organization focused on ending violence among Louisville youth, awarded BTAG Coaches Brandon Hill and Isaiah Britt with the Community Leader award for their work to promote peace in the city. The award ceremony was held July 26, 2018 at the Muhammad Ali Center.  BTAG would like to specifically thank Mr. Norman Martin and Dr. Eddie Woods for their mentorship and for the opportunity to partner with community programs.

Working Together to Achieve a Common Goal

Picture
BTAG believes whole heartedly that multiple organizations should come together to achieve a common goal for the greater good of the community.  BTAG was afforded the opportunity to work with homegrown NBA star Rajon Rondo, and his Rajon Rondo Assisting Youth Foundation’s coat drive on Christmas Eve of 2017. Coats were gifted to hundreds of underprivileged youth in the Louisville community.

WEEKEND OF HOPE

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The 4th annual Weekend of Hope event took place Saturday Sept. 23 at the California Community Center. The Weekend of Hope Peace League took on the Louisville Metro Police Department for a fun day of scrimmage on the basketball court. The teams collected non-perishable items to donate to local organizations that help people in need. The goal of the Weekend of Hope was to get the community together to promote peace as well as get the police department involved to show unity.

Coach Isaiah Britt and 15 students volunteered during the 2017 Derby Scholarship Gala sponsored by the 100 Black Men of Louisville, a non-profit organization that aims to "improve the quality of life and economic opportunities for all African Americans." The annual event was held at the Galt House Hotel where the students had an opportunity to network and meet international and local celebrities. BTAG donated hundreds of dollars in scholarships via silent auction.

empowering our youth

Louisville is the home of boxing great Muhammad Ali and BTAG was proud to participate in the Inaugural Gala of Greatness held in July 2017 at the Muhammad Ali Center. By way of silent auction, BTAG donated hundreds of dollars to scholarship programs to benefit youth in Kentuckiana. The gala was held as a part of the I Am Ali Festival, a program that challenges young people to reach their full spiritual and academic potential.

united we stand

A continuous theme throughout BTAG is community involvement and the importance of education. In Aug. 2017, Coaches Brandon Hill and Isaiah Britt participated in the Unity Jam, a community fair sponsored by Norton Healthcare and basketball great Darrell Griffith. BTAG donated hundreds of dollars worth of school supplies so that underprivileged youth in Louisville could be prepared with all the tools they need for a successful school year.
